Framework is *done*
The last 3 months I thought about cutting down some sub-systems. I thought what I was trying with the game was too complicated. OSR encounters, plus narrativist drama, plus nearly cannon aesthetic and universe… And then last week I played some Hanoï tower with the rules and they fell into place.
Here’s how it sits right now:
Themes
Aunter offers a couple of themes for exploration:

coming of age, growth, belonging and teenage drama

xianxia, personal cultivation, and how ideas clash or match.

Gameplay overview
In Aunter, you can always use one of the following 2 character action modes:
Shadow Range - compare 2 powers to see which character has the last word
Freewheeling - take turns linking one action to a previous one, just for the sake of style and dynamics, without worrying too much about realism or precision.

When the stakes and juices are low, you can use any of these 2 fiction authoring modes:
Idle dreaming - speak out of character to build the world and lay out the ground for a scene you care to see
Brise-Coeur - delve into a mini-game of questions and answers to explore the wonders of the world and the depths of the soul.

There are also 2 special rules for use in special circumstances:
Trial - one person has prepared a Trial, with 1 danger, 1 loophole and objectives. Turn by turn, you will choose the objectives you focus on, seek the loophole while avoiding the danger. Record your achievements by earning Stars.
Crowning moment - your character may be faced with a Conviction, a belief that they will accept or reject, making their value system evolve from one story beat to the next. Accept or push dramatic revelations with Crown tokens.”

I’ve said it a number of times, but I’ll say it again with the same vibrant hope: now my game is done, I only need to write it. Of course, I’ll need to prepare some content, characters, encounters, etc. and tables for generating content. And then on to playtesting. But the framework is set, and that’s good news I wanted to share.**
