Border Striders
A downloadable perillous journey
This is a storygame about hard journeys.
1-8 players 120 minutes
With this one, I am approaching at some serious stuff I bear. The tone doesn't have to be heavy, but it can become very dark, depending on the values you choose to start with and the individualism you put in it. You can lighten the tone by reading "when you stay" instead of "when you reach" in the resolution mechanic.
It is totally inspired by Mesopotamians, by Nick Wedig.
But why read about the game when you can read it ?
It's right there in the previews and there is a shared copy for you down this page.
Significant changes between versions: Striders : the Lead rolls for themself, can speak from the end-time
Shifters : the Lead rolls for all, can speak from a future-time
Farers : The lead rolls for themself, can veto dice swapping
If you wonder why I find it a dark game, you may need to hear What they took with them, a poem by Jenifer Toskvig that will make it clear. Warning: migration trauma. If you wonder why a warning is needed, go educate yourself. If you're feeling ironic that I specify a warning, go f*ck your head.
More accessibility (finance, language, disability, etc.) on my home page.
